Jill Bonner
Jill has shown a deep fascination with arts and crafts since early childhood, taking inspiration mainly from the natural world. Flowers, animals, and water are her favorite subjects.
In her teens, she attended Art College for three years, but left without completing her HND qualification in Stained Glass, as she struggled with written work and deadlines.
A late diagnosis of Autism has helped her to understand the cause of many of her difficulties and to make adjustments and allowances for herself.
Keen to work and experiment with different media, Jill has made two-dimensional art in watercolor, acrylics, oils, and inks. Her 3D work has included stained glass pieces, small sculptures in metal, driftwood, epoxy resin, and mold making to cast in plaster from originals. Other projects have included plans for masks and lights to create from cardboard and clear cast, illuminated sculptures.
Jill suffered a major setback in 2016 when she began to suffer a visual disturbance. Making hand-drawn art became difficult and painful but not wanting to give up, she taught herself to work in Illustrator, where the lossless enlargement allows her to adjust the image, to see in enough detail.
