Situation
Fannie Mae is a leader in diversity and inclusion and is one of the most diverse companies in the financial services industry. Using innovative approaches, the company continually strives to find new ways to engage employees in their diversity and inclusion programs.
Action
As part of their disability diversity strategy, the company decided to create a visible picture of its commitment. In summer of 2019, Fannie Mae partnered with Zenaviv to to implement its vision. Six of our artists impacted by autism, painted six wall murals at company’s new corporate facilities in DC.
Result
The response from the employees and other stakeholders has been tremendous! Some of them asking for more or even similar efforts at other Fannie Mae facilities.
Speaking about the opportunity, mother of one of the artists said, "it helped shape his identity and visibility as a fine artist and helped develop a good self-image" and importantly he now "feels a valuable member of the society."
